The importance and meaning behind having a pet portrait cannot be underestimated and I've been lucky enough to create artworks both here in the UK and internationally with these values at the heart of every single one.
I work on high quality Windsor & Newton Bristol Board paper and use Faber Castell Polychromos pencils as they give the best vibrancy when it's needed and are also excellent at creating softer tones to fully capture the pet in all their glory! When painting I use oils on canvas as these are simply tried and tested to give the best finish.
Please browse the site to find prices, ordering process, tips for reference photos and other examples of some of my previous work. There are also contact buttons if you wish to ask anything regarding getting your pet portrait commisioned and I'll be happy to answer any questions.
Many thanks for looking!
If you wish to commission a portrait of your pet, it is a very simple process which begins by sending me a message using the 'Contact' buttons located throughout the website. We can then discuss whether you'd like a head and upper chest study or a full body piece and what size you'd like your portrait to be. The price of the commission can then be finalised.
Please note: a 50% deposit (non-refundable) upon placing the order ensures work starts next in line. When finished I will send a watermarked copy and if you're happy the balance can be paid in full to ensure despatch.
All polychromos artworks come mounted, but if you would prefer it to not be just let me know when ordering.
I would then need at least one clear reference photo to work from, which can be emailed to me. When payment is cleared work will begin at the soonest opportunity and when completed will be mounted and shipped to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery, which means it would be fully insured.
Please see the Photograph Guide for tips on how to take the best reference photo of your pet. After all, you want to capture them in all their beautiful glory!
About the Artist
My name is Mark and ever since childhood I've always had pets in my life. From dogs and cats to guinea pigs and budgies my understanding of the bonds formed with pets was established from those early days and has kept on growing ever since. These relationships with my pets has led me to appreciate how much a good pet portrait can mean to their family and made me want to give others the joy of their pet as a work of art.
